The festival of slow tourism, culture, and well-being in Aquileia
Aquileia has always been a crossroads: a gateway between the Mediterranean and Central Europe, a hub of Roman roads, and today, a meeting point for great walking itineraries such as the Romea Strata and the Cammino Celeste. It is in this millennial setting, a UNESCO World Heritage site, that the Festival of the Walks of Aquileia was born, dedicated to slow tourism, culture, and well-being, with the idea that walking is above all a tool for knowledge.
The festival offers a program that combines guided walks, archaeological routes, forest bathing sessions, and well-being workshops, spread across institutional spaces, archaeological areas, cellars, and cafes in the city. There are also moments for reflection on cultural policies, territorial development, and accessibility, as well as activities designed for children, for an experience suitable for all ages.
Organized by the Fondazione Aquileia in collaboration with Cammini d'Italia, the festival aims to promote walking as a slow and profound way to experience the landscape and history. Activities are free to enter with mandatory booking, in a format that combines cultural dissemination, contact with nature, and Aquileia's extraordinary historical heritage.
The 2nd edition of the Festival of the Walks of Aquileia is scheduled from April 17th to 19th, 2026. Organized by the Fondazione Aquileia with Cammini d'Italia, the festival offers three days dedicated to walking as a tool for knowledge, between nature, archaeology, and well-being.
