The spring of the vegetable garden in Scorzè

In the center of Scorzè, a municipality in the Miranese area of the province of Venice, a Sunday in March is entirely dedicated to the culture of the vegetable garden and agriculture: it's the Festa degli Orti, from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM in the streets and squares of the town. A day that celebrates the land, its products, and the territory's connection with agricultural activity.

What you'll find at the festival

• Exhibition of seeds, cereals, legumes, and sprouts, the heart of the event
• Exhibition-market with farms, crafts, and food and wine products
• Parade of vintage tractors and mini-tractor races
• Workshops, pruning demonstrations, horses, and ornamental birds
• Children's games and award ceremony for the schools' graphic-pictorial competition

Tradition and taste

Among the most curious events are those dedicated to the territory's excellences — such as the demonstration on the secrets of tiramisu with a world champion of the specialty. The food stands accompany the day with the flavors of local cuisine.

Simultaneously with the Tulip Festival

The Festa degli Orti takes place at the same time as the Tulip Festival in Rio San Martino di Scorzè, with the famous field of 300,000 tulips from Dal Ben Giardini: a shuttle train connects the two events. The event is organized by Comune di Scorzè, Confcommercio del Miranese, Pro Loco Scorzè, and Tutto in Piazza. Free admission (the event is canceled in case of rain).
