About Festival of Saint Anthony

Camposampiero, in the province of Padua, is one of the places most cherished in the memory of Saint Anthony: here, between the Sanctuary of the Walnut Tree and the Sanctuary of the Vision, the Saint spent his last days before his death. Every year, from the Triduum to the solemnity of June 13th, the Antonian Sanctuaries experience intense days of celebration: masses, moments of prayer, entrustment of children to the Saint, blessing with the relic, and the evening city procession.

In the footsteps of Saint Anthony in Camposampiero

Camposampiero (province of Padua) holds a deep connection with Saint Anthony of Padua: it was here that the Saint spent the last days of his life, between the Sanctuary of the Walnut Tree — famous for the cell among the branches of the walnut tree — and the Sanctuary of the Vision. The Antonian Sanctuaries, at Via S. Antonio 6, are still a destination for pilgrims from all over the Veneto and beyond today.

The Triduum and the solemnity of June 13th

The celebrations in honor of the Saint are spread over the thirteen days of the Triduum, which accompany faithful and pilgrims until the solemnity of June 13th. This is the most intense day, with a full program of Holy Masses in the two sanctuaries, the entrustment of children to Saint Anthony, the blessing with the relic, and the solemn evening city procession.

A living devotion

The Antonian festival in Camposampiero combines spiritual dimension and territorial identity. The procession with the statue and relic of the Saint, enlivened by popular participation, is the culmination of a tradition that draws a crowd of devotees and visitors to the heart of the Alta Padovana every year.
