The religious and popular August festival in the hamlet of San Zeno di Castelbaldo
The Festival of Our Lady of the Snows is the summer festival of the hamlet of San Zeno, in Castelbaldo, a small municipality in the lower Padua region bordering Verona and Polesine. Held annually in the first days of August, it takes its name from the liturgical feast of Our Lady of the Snows, which Catholic tradition celebrates on August 5th.
The religious aspect is central: rosaries, solemn Masses, and the traditional procession through the village streets mark the festival days. Around these events, the popular dimension unfolds, with the inhabited center transforming for a few days into a festival village open to all ages.
The food stalls, open every evening, offer typical Venetian cuisine: risottos, grilled meats, fried dishes, homemade desserts, and local wine. The program also includes live music, folk shows, and dancing evenings, a children's area with inflatable games and entertainment, a charity raffle, lotteries, craft markets, and the usual final fireworks display. The festival is organized thanks to the efforts of the Pro Loco and the parish of Castelbaldo, in the province of Padua.
