The patronal feast of August at Parco Poma, with music, markets, and fireworks
Our Lady of the Snows is the patron saint of Cura Carpignano, a municipality in the Province of Pavia just a few kilometers from the provincial capital. Her feast day, August 5th, is the occasion for the most important festival of the year: the Festival of Our Lady of the Snows, held at Parco Poma, in front of the town's school.
The festival spans several evenings of celebration. The program combines live music, with concerts and cover bands, with gastronomic offerings prepared by volunteers, in an atmosphere of conviviality typical of Lombard village festivals. There is also an area dedicated to children, making the event suitable for all ages.
Among the most anticipated events are the craft market, which brightens one of the evenings, and especially the grand finale fireworks display, which concludes the festival by illuminating the sky above Parco Poma. It is the highlight, the moment that draws locals and visitors from neighboring towns each year.
The festival is organized by the Pro Loco with the patronage of the Municipality, representing the associative fabric that keeps community life alive in the small towns of the Pavese region. Experiencing the festival is also a way to discover an authentic corner of Lombardy, amidst the countryside south of Pavia, far from the main tourist routes.
The Festival of Our Lady of the Snows 2026 will once again celebrate the patron saint in Cura Carpignano, taking place at Parco Poma on the days surrounding August 5th.
As tradition dictates, the festival will feature evenings of live music, food prepared by volunteers, a children's area, a craft market, and the grand fireworks finale. The complete program will be announced by the Pro Loco and the Municipality in the weeks leading up to the event.
The detailed program for the 2026 edition will be published by the Pro Loco of Cura Carpignano in the weeks before the festival, around the feast of Our Lady of the Snows (August 5th).
The traditional structure of the festival includes:
