Festival of Gentle Slowness

A festival against the rush

The Festival of Gentle Slowness is a cultural event that takes place between the Municipalities of Orino and Castello Cabiaglio, in the upper Varese area, within the Campo dei Fiori Regional Park. Born in 2025 as part of a renewable and solidarity-based energy community project, it offers concrete reflection on the value of human relationships as an alternative to the frenzy of daily life.

Two days between Orino and Cabiaglio

The event is spread over two days. It opens on May 1st in Orino with an institutional meeting dedicated to the themes of participation, inclusion, and conflict management, involving the mayors of the "Kind" Municipalities in the province of Varese. The following day, the celebration moves to Castello Cabiaglio, reached along a scenic walk through the woods.

The Peace Walk in the park

The symbolic heart of the festival is the Peace Walk, which connects Orino to Castello Cabiaglio along trail 310B of the Campo dei Fiori Regional Park. A slow and conscious journey, in line with the spirit of the event, which makes walking in the woods an experience of listening and meeting.

Care, books, and meditation

The program combines book presentations dedicated to the theme of "care" — for oneself, for others, and for the planet — moments of meditation and empathy, and activities for families such as Kamishibai theater. In Castello Cabiaglio, the civic library is named "Gentle Space," a place dedicated to welcome and connection. Promoted by the Matrioska association with the Margine Vivo cooperative, La Lumera ODV, and the Movimento Italia Gentile, the festival is a small but significant event in the province of Varese.
