In Abbiategrasso, in the Metropolitan City of Milan, the Festival of Cultures is the day dedicated to the meeting between the different communities that inhabit the city. The chosen theme, 'Many roots, one soil: our community', encapsulates the spirit of the event: to enhance differences as shared wealth, within a single city community.
A widespread festival in the center
The festival enlivens the Visconti Castle and the city center with a participatory program:
- Inaugural parade from the Park of Friendship
- Artistic activities and workshops
- Music and shows
- Convivial moments and gastronomy from different communities
An integration process
The Festival of Cultures is not an isolated event, but the culmination of an integration process built over time by the Intercultural Council of Abbiategrasso, chaired by Simone Paolucci. The initiative is part of the broader 'Restate in città' program and uses culture and participation as concrete tools for social cohesion, in a city that chooses to tell its story through its many voices.
Festival of Cultures — edition 2026
The 2026 edition of the Festival of Cultures takes place on Saturday, May 16, transforming the center of Abbiategrasso into an open space for dialogue and integration. The day opens with an inaugural parade at 9:30 AM from the Park of Friendship, in via Legnano, and continues with artistic activities, music, and convivial moments at the Visconti Castle and in the streets of the center. Organized by the Intercultural Council, chaired by Simone Paolucci.

How to get there
Abbiategrasso is about 22 km from Milan, reachable by train (Milan-Mortara line) and by car from the SS494. The festival takes place at the Visconti Castle and in the city center; the parade starts from the Park of Friendship, in via Legnano.
