Two evenings of rock and solidarity in Modena, in memory of Oleg
Festival Duro is a live music review that animates the Arena Wave Music at Via Ancona 6, in Modena, in the heart of Emilia-Romagna. Conceived as a celebration for rock lovers in all its forms, the festival brings together emerging and established local bands for evenings of outdoor concerts, energy, and adrenaline. Over the years, it has become an anticipated event for the music scene in the municipality of Modena and the entire province.
Festival Duro was born in memory of Oleg Egon Brando Salvino, a musician and singer from Carpi who passed away in December 2022 at the age of 44, a well-known figure in the local rock scene. His friends, musicians, and bands who knew him chose to honor his passion and energy by creating an event that keeps his memory alive through the music he loved.
The festival has a strong charitable dimension: during the evenings, donations are collected for Nordoff Robbins Italia – Modena branch, an organization that uses music as a therapeutic tool for relationship and growth for the most vulnerable. Music therapy thus becomes the thread that links the tribute to Oleg, the passion for rock, and social commitment, in an event where having fun also means doing good.
The Arena Wave Music hosts the main stage and an internal food & drink area with options for everyone, including vegetarian and vegan choices, as well as craft stalls. Admission is free: anyone can participate and support the cause with a donation. The atmosphere is typical of open-air rock festivals in the Emilia summer, made of guitars, community, and the desire to be together.
As part of the rich calendar of festivals and reviews that characterize Modena during the summer months, Festival Duro represents an opportunity to discover the vibrancy of the local independent music scene. An evening (or two) dedicated to rock, in a city that has linked much of its identity to music and engines.
The 2026 edition, the fourth, marked a turning point: for the first time, Festival Duro was spread over two consecutive evenings, Friday, June 5, and Saturday, June 6, at the Arena Wave Music on Via Ancona 6 in Modena. Eight bands took turns on stage, offering various shades of rock.
On Friday, June 5, the headliner band Post Credits took the stage, accompanied by BeeFolkee, Rik Sorci & 999, and Frankie J Project. On Saturday, June 6, the headliners were Fakir Thongs, with Castelnuovo Rancore, Binge Drinkers, and Faro's. The area opened and music started around 7 PM.
Admission was free, with an indoor food & drink area (including vegetarian and vegan options) and craft stalls. During the evenings, donations were collected for Nordoff Robbins Italia – Modena branch.
