The patronal festival of Fino del Monte in Val Seriana
Every year, on November 30th, the Municipality of Fino del Monte, in the province of Bergamo, celebrates the festival of its patron saint: Saint Andrew the Apostle. The recurrence, set on the day when the Eastern and Western Churches commemorate the apostle brother of Peter, is one of the most heartfelt moments of the religious calendar of this small village in the upper Val Seriana.
The heart of the celebrations is the parish church of Saint Andrew the Apostle, which dates back to the 16th century. Here, on the patron saint's day, the solemn mass is held, the central moment of the festival around which the entire community of Fino gathers. Devotion to Saint Andrew, traditionally a protector also linked to the world of fishing and celebrated in many seaside towns, takes on the value of a shared identity root here, amidst the Orobic mountains.
Fino del Monte is one of the eight municipalities in the Bergamo area that celebrate Saint Andrew the Apostle on November 30th, along with centers such as Cazzano Sant'Andrea, Bracca, Premolo, and others. This diffusion testifies to the depth of the devotion to Saint Andrew in the Bergamo territory and its valleys. For the people of Fino, the recurrence represents not only an appointment of faith but also a moment of cohesion and rediscovery of their origins, in a village where the community dimension retains its full value.
Nestled on the Clusone plateau, in the upper Val Seriana, Fino del Monte is a small municipality that preserves ancient traditions. Alongside the patronal festival in November, the village also remembers other rites linked to the cycle of the year. However, the festival of Saint Andrew remains the main event of Fino's religious identity, an opportunity to immerse oneself in the authentic popular devotion of the Bergamo mountains.
On November 30, 2026, Fino del Monte renews the celebration of its patron saint Saint Andrew the Apostle. The heart of the day is the solemn mass in the 16th-century parish church named after him, a moment of reflection and participation for the entire community of Fino and the neighboring villages of the Clusone plateau.
