The Patronal Festival of Sant'Alessandro in Cesate

In the municipality of Cesate (Province of Milan, Lombardy), the Festa Patronale di Sant'Alessandro is the most important religious observance of the year. The patron saint, Sant'Alessandro the martyr — a figure linked to the devotional tradition of the Milanese and Bergamasco area — is celebrated at the end of August with a festival organised by the Comunità Pastorale San Paolo VI, which brings together the town's parishes in a single pastoral journey.

Faith and Devotion

The heart of the festival is religious: the solemn Holy Mass opens the celebrations, followed by the Eucharistic celebration dedicated to the sick, a moment of particular attention towards the vulnerable members of the community.
