Saint Benedict, patron saint of Trigolo
The Feast of Saint Benedict celebrates the patron saint of Trigolo, a Municipality in the province of Cremona, bordering the cremasco region. Saint Benedict of Nursia, patron saint of Europe, is celebrated on July 11th, and around this date, the town experiences its most important recurrence.
The "Benedettino dell'anno"
One of the characteristic moments of the festival is the presentation of the "Benedettino dell'anno" award, with which the community of Trigolo honours individuals and entities that have distinguished themselves through commitment, hospitality, and service. Over the years, the award has also been given to those working in integration, assistance, and volunteerism, giving the patronal feast a civil value in addition to its religious one.
A Community Festival
The Feast of Saint Benedict is a moment of identity for Trigolo: it combines parish celebrations with town events, in a bond with the Cremona territory that is renewed every summer. Preceding it, in June, is the beer festival Trigolo Rocks, a sign of the Municipality's associative vitality.
