Our Lady of the Snows in Meano

Meano is a hamlet within the municipality of Corzano, in the Bassa bresciana region of the province of Brescia. Its church is dedicated to Saint Mary of the Snows, and the patronal festival in honour of Our Lady of the Snows is the most cherished event of the year for the small community of the hamlet.

The festival is celebrated on August 5th, the day of the liturgical feast of Our Lady of the Snows, linked according to tradition to the miraculous snowfall in Rome that indicated the site where the Basilica of Saint Mary Major was to be built.
