The patrons of Villasanta between faith, tradition, and village festival
The Patronal Festival of Saints Mark and Anastasia is the recurrence that links the community of Villasanta, a municipality in the province of Monza and Brianza, to its patron saints. The festival traditionally centres around the second Sunday of October and combines the religious dimension, with the celebration of the solemn Holy Mass, with the more popular and convivial aspect of the village festival.
Alongside the liturgical moments, the programme is enriched each year with various initiatives: the funfair in the area near the Il Gigante shopping centre, exhibitions, concerts, a treasure hunt for children, and gastronomic events of the Brianza tradition, such as the tasting of torta paesana (local cake) and roasted chestnuts with mulled wine. The Corpo Musicale Villasanta (Villasanta Music Band) plays a central role, dedicating its patronal concert to the festival.
The festival is promoted by the Municipality of Villasanta together with the Pastoral Community and local associations. It is an occasion for the town to come together around its identity, in the streets of the centre and historic spaces like Villa Camperio, at a time of year that marks the transition towards autumn.
The 2026 edition of the Patronal Festival of Saints Mark and Anastasia is expected in Villasanta around the second Sunday of October, which falls on Sunday, October 11, 2026. The Corpo Musicale Villasanta has already scheduled the concert dedicated to the patronal festival for that date. The full programme, with religious celebrations, a funfair, exhibitions, and gastronomic events, will be published by the Municipality and the Pastoral Community in the weeks prior.
The detailed programme for the 2026 edition will be published by the Municipality of Villasanta and the Pastoral Community in the weeks leading up to the festival.
