Thiene's Fairytale Christmas
During the Christmas period, the historic centre of Thiene (province of Vicenza) transforms into a fairytale world with "Natale di Fiaba", the most anticipated event of the "Natale delle Meraviglie" programme, organised by Confcommercio and the Amici di Thiene association with the Municipality.
Over 300 Costumed Characters
The heart of the festival is the over 300 costumed characters who animate the streets with lights, colours, scents, and flavours. The streets and squares of the centre become fairytale locations with evocative names: Via delle Fiabe, Paese di Babbo Natale (Santa Claus Village), the Rotonde delle Meraviglie (Wonder Roundabouts), and Paese di Pinocchio (Pinocchio Village). A route designed especially for children and families, with entertainment, flash mobs, and music.
Markets, Workshops, and Flavours
Alongside the shows, visitors can discover typical Christmas gastronomic specialities at the food stalls and browse the craft markets. Creative workshops and musical moments complete an atmosphere that makes Thiene one of the most enchanting Christmas destinations in the Alto Vicentino area.
Natale di Fiaba — edition 2026
For Christmas 2026, "Natale di Fiaba" will animate the historic centre of Thiene on selected weekends in December, as part of the wider "Natale delle Meraviglie". As tradition dictates, over 300 costumed characters will bring streets and squares, transformed into fairytale locations, to life.
Among Via delle Fiabe, Babbo Natale's Village, Pinocchio's Village, craft markets, creative workshops, and Christmas gastronomic specialities, the event is primarily dedicated to children. The precise dates of the weekends and the detailed programme will be communicated by the organisers (Amici di Thiene, Municipality, and Confcommercio).

How to get there
Thiene is reachable by car from the A31 Valdastico motorway (Thiene exit) and by train on the Vicenza–Schio line. The events take place in the historic centre (Corso Garibaldi, Via Trento, Piazza Ferrarin, Piazza Chilesotti).
When
"Natale delle Meraviglie" enlivens the city from mid-November until Epiphany; "Natale di Fiaba" focuses on certain weekends in December dedicated to children.
