Roccapipirozzi Alta is a hamlet in the municipality of Sesto Campano, in the province of Isernia, on the border between Molise and Campania. Here, in mid-August, the Festa di San Rocco is celebrated, coinciding with the Ferragosto period, when the hamlet comes alive to welcome the many residents and holidaymakers returning for the summer.

The festival is part of the Estate Sestolese programme, the calendar of events that the Municipality of Sesto Campano organises every year, involving the capital and its hamlets. San Rocco, venerated throughout Southern Italy as a protector against epidemics, is the object of widespread popular devotion, and in Roccapipirozzi Alta, his festival is one of the central religious events of the summer.
Between faith and celebration
The occasion combines the procession and religious services with evening civil celebrations, in a typical village festival atmosphere of the Upper Molise communities.
