About Festa di San Nicolò

On December 6th, Bardolino celebrates its patron saint, San Nicolò, and kicks off the Christmas period. The day combines devotion and festive atmosphere: the Solemn Holy Mass in the parish church, the lighting of the large Christmas tree in Piazza Matteotti accompanied by a gospel choir, Santa Claus's house for children, and the evocative underwater nativity scene at the port. A heartfelt event that opens the Christmas calendar in Bardolino, on Lake Garda (Verona).

The patron saint of Bardolino

Every December 6th, Bardolino, on the Veronese side of Lake Garda, celebrates its patron saint, San Nicolò. The religious festival coincides with the start of the town's Christmas celebrations, in the province of Verona.

Between faith and Christmas lights

The program includes the Solemn Holy Mass in honor of the patron saint in the parish church and, subsequently, the lighting of the large Christmas tree in Piazza Matteotti — a real fir tree that will later be replanted in the area — enlivened by songs from the gospel choir of the Bardolino Modern Music School.

For families and children

For the little ones, Santa Claus's house opens in Piazza Principe Amedeo, where they can deliver their letters, and the iconic underwater nativity scene at the port, blessed with the Gas Diving School association. The Festa di San Nicolò thus inaugurates the rich "Christmas in Bardolino" program, curated by the Bardolino Top Foundation and the Municipality.
