The patron saint of the village

St. Michael the Archangel is the patron saint of Acquaviva Collecroce (Kruč), a municipality in Lower Molise, in the province of Campobasso. The patronal festival, organized by the San Michele Arcangelo Festival Committee together with the Municipality, enlivens the village at the end of September with a program that combines religious devotion, popular tradition, and social gathering.

Fair, procession, and auction of typical products

The traditional fair takes place in the heart of the town, while the main day, September 29th, opens with fireworks and the town band's parade, continues with the solemn Holy Mass and the procession in which the effigies of all the saints venerated in Acquaviva are carried through the streets. In the afternoon, in the square, the characteristic auction of typical products takes place, with products purchased and then consumed together by the community.

The Molise Roots

The festival is part of the Festival delle Radici Molisane, which involves several municipalities in Lower Molise and celebrates the cultural heritage of the Croatian-Molise community, which settled in the area from the 15th century and is still today the guardian of the na-našu language. For those returning to their origins or discovering this corner of Molise for the first time, the festival is an authentic immersion into local identity.
