In San Fermo della Battaglia, in the province of Como, August 9th is a special date: it celebrates San Fermo, the patron saint who gives the municipality its name. The Festa di San Fermo is the traditional anniversary that brings the town together every summer, intertwining the religious dimension with popular and community life.

A Community Festival

More than just a simple celebration, the Festa di San Fermo is a day enlivened by numerous initiatives, the result of the work of local associations and groups. In recent years, the program has included inflatables organized by the San Fermo Red Cross, a beach volleyball tournament, a fire safety module for children, a video installation by OLO Creative Farm, and a photographic exhibition by the Ego club. A mix of offerings that appeals to all ages, from the youngest to sports and photography enthusiasts.

A Town with a History

San Fermo della Battaglia is no ordinary municipality: its name recalls the Battle of San Fermo in 1859, an episode of the Risorgimento linked to Garibaldi's campaign in the Second Italian War of Independence. The patronal feast, despite its local and family nature, is thus set in a place with a strong historical identity, on the hills overlooking the Como area.

Promoted by the Municipality of San Fermo della Battaglia with the involvement of local associations, the festival is one of the central events of the town's summer.
