Edition 2025 — Festa della Marchigiana
From 31 July to 3 August 2025, the town of San Giorgio La Molara, in the province of Benevento, hosted one of the most successful editions of the Festa della Marchigiana, summed up by the tagline "Nata qui" ("Born here"): a direct nod to the short supply chain of Fortore's Marchigiana IGP, with cattle slaughtered specifically for the festival and certified to the standards of the Vitellone bianco dell'Appennino centrale protection consortium.
The highlight was the 18th Interregional Marchigiana Cattle Show, listed in the National Herdbook, which drew breeders and technicians from several Italian regions, with animal presentations and award ceremonies. On the institutional side, a conference was held on meat production in inland areas, covering regulatory requirements and sustainable development, with academics, trade associations and farmers.
The food side was entrusted to five outlets in the town — Pabb'ja, Agriturismo Castello, San Giorgio Ristorante Ricevimenti, Osteria Con Gusto and the Stand Bistecca — with dishes such as citrus and pistachio carpaccio, Marchigiana stew and cold roast beef, plus pasta dishes over the weekend. The two main squares hosted live music every evening. The final tally spoke of an all-time record turnout, with tens of thousands of visitors arriving from Campania and from numerous other regions.
