The Festa della Castagna is the festival that the Gruppo San Gottardo dedicates to autumn in Padernello, a hamlet in the Municipality of Paese, in the province of Treviso. It takes place in the heated marquee next to the church of San Gottardo, the same space that hosts the group's other festivals, ensuring indoor evenings even with the October cold.
A generous seasonal cuisine
The menu is the real star: pumpkin gnocchi, cod with polenta, fried fish, mushrooms, cured meats, and, of course, the chestnuts that give the festival its name. A gastronomic offering rooted in Venetian autumn tradition, served in a convivial atmosphere.
A tradition of volunteering
As with the Sagra di San Gottardo and the Pan&Vin of Epiphany, the Festa della Castagna is also the result of the work of volunteers from the Gruppo San Gottardo, active since 1974. It is an eagerly awaited event that draws residents of the hamlet and visitors from the surrounding areas to the heart of the Marca Trevigiana.
Festa della Castagna — edition 2026
The 34th edition of the Chestnut Festival takes place over two weekends in October 2026: October 9, 10, and 11 and October 16, 17, and 18. The food stand opens in the evening from 7:00 PM, while on Sundays, October 11 and 18, lunch is also served from 12:00 PM.
The evenings are held in the heated marquee adjacent to the church of San Gottardo, in Padernello di Paese, organized by the Gruppo San Gottardo.

- Sunday, October 18 — lunch from 12:00 PM and evening stand from 7:00 PM
Seasonal menu: pumpkin gnocchi, cod with polenta, fried fish, mushrooms, cured meats, and chestnuts. Any musical evenings are yet to be detailed.
