A Bergamo's food and wine tradition

The Festa dell'Uva e dei Fiori is the most important event in Foresto Sparso, a municipality in the province of Bergamo known for its winemaking tradition. With almost half a century of history — the 2026 edition is the forty-eighth — the festival is one of the most established food and wine sagre (traditional festivals) in the area, dedicated to the two products that give the event its name: grapes and flowers.

Wines, gastronomy, and music

The program includes dancing evenings with orchestras and tribute bands, accompanied by local wine tastings and more, and a wide range of food stalls offering local specialties. Bars, catering services, and moments of conviviality provide the backdrop to a festival that, for several days, transforms the town center into a large meeting space.

The parade of allegorical floats

The highlight of the event is the parade of allegorical floats, held on the last day and involving the entire community of Foresto Sparso. The floats, the result of the work of local groups and districts (contrade), parade through the streets with colors, allegories, and creativity, in a tradition that is the true identity symbol of the festival.

Culture of wine and territory

In addition to the festivities, the event features themed conferences dedicated to wine and local food and wine culture, highlighting the link between Foresto Sparso and its wine production. The Festa dell'Uva e dei Fiori is thus both a popular festival and a celebration of the agricultural heritage of the Bergamo area.
