The wheat threshing of yesteryear in Corte Papafava, Arre
The Festa del Frumento in Arre, in the province of Padova, is a re-enactment of field work that has brought the gestures of Venetian rural civilization back to life for over twenty years. The heart of the event is the wheat threshing, recreated with vintage tools and numerous costumed participants who play all the necessary roles for this ancient agricultural practice, in the fields of via Valli and in Corte Palazzo Papafava.
The festival is accompanied by a parade of vintage tractors that tells the story of the evolution of agricultural mechanization since the 1940s, as well as an exhibition of old agricultural machinery, a model tractor exhibition curated by Team MAV, and radio-controlled model demonstrations. A market dedicated to local products and crafts completes the day.
The food stand of the Pro Loco Arre APS, the event organiser, is open for both lunch and dinner, serving dishes from traditional Paduan cuisine. The Festa del Frumento is an authentic opportunity to discover the rural traditions of the Veneto region, far from mass tourist circuits, and to experience the conviviality of a true village festival.
The 2026 edition of the Festa del Frumento in Arre will take place on Saturday, June 13, and Sunday, June 14, in Corte Palazzo Papafava, following the Beer Festival of the preceding weekends. The highlight is Sunday, June 14, with the wheat threshing recreated using vintage tools starting at 9:00 AM in the fields of via Valli, followed in the afternoon by the mini-parade of historic tractors and vehicles. Throughout the two days, you can admire the exhibition of agricultural machinery, the tractor models from Team MAV, the radio-controlled model demonstrations, and the market for local products and crafts. Organised by Pro Loco Arre APS.
