International acoustic guitar festival in Ciociaria
Ferentino Acustica is one of the longest-running and most acclaimed Italian festivals dedicated to the acoustic guitar. Founded in 2003, the festival takes place every July in the historic center of Ferentino, a town in the province of Frosinone nestled among the hills of Ciociaria in southern Lazio. The artistic direction is entrusted to guitarist Giovanni Pelosi, who over the years has built a lineup capable of engaging with major industry events such as the Acoustic Guitar Village in Cremona and the Acoustic Guitar Meeting in Sarzana.
The beating heart of the festival is the scenic Piazza Mazzini, where every evening at 9:00 PM, guitarists from all over Italy and abroad take the stage. The program ranges from fingerstyle and singer-songwriter music to Mediterranean jazz, folk, and experimental sounds, offering the audience a sonic spectrum that showcases the instrument in all its expressive possibilities. Over the years, leading names in the acoustic scene have passed through Ferentino, making the event a landmark for enthusiasts and professionals alike.
The festival is not limited to live music. In the late afternoon, the Sala della Pace of the Palazzo Consolare hosts book and record presentations and meetings with authors, enriching the festival with a cultural dimension that accompanies spectators until the evening concerts. It is a way to tell the story of the guitar and singer-songwriter music through the words of those who live and study it.
Organized with the support of the Municipality of Ferentino and the Pro Loco, Ferentino Acustica offers free admission: a choice that makes it a popular and inclusive event, capable of enlivening summer evenings and bringing life back to the historic center. For the public, it is also an opportunity to discover Ferentino, with its imposing pre-Roman walls, the Acropolis, the Cathedral, and the medieval alleys that provide a natural backdrop to the notes of the guitars.
From July 23 to 26, 2026, Ferentino hosts the twenty-fourth edition of its historic acoustic guitar festival, directed by Giovanni Pelosi. Four days alternating between book and record presentations in the afternoon at 6:00 PM in the Sala della Pace of the Palazzo Consolare, and evening concerts in Piazza Mazzini starting at 9:00 PM, all with free admission.
Thursday, July 23 - 6:00 PM: book presentation "Intervista a Mario Insenga"; 9:00 PM: concert with Fabrizio Bianco, Dario Fornara, Davide Lomagno and Gabriele Dusi, Frano Livingston.
Friday, July 24 - 6:00 PM: presentation of the album "Ulisse al Confine del Tempo" by Edoardo De Angelis; 9:00 PM: concert with Salvatore Scutiero, Francesco Tizianel, Luca Carrubba, Riccardo Zappa.
Saturday, July 25 - 9:00 PM: concert with Palma Cosa, Danny Trent, Deborah Kooperman and Giovanni Ferro, Francesco Buzzurro.
Sunday, July 26 - 6:00 PM: book presentation "Me pare ieri" by Ernesto Bassignano; 9:00 PM: concert with Pierangelo Mugavero, Marco Manusso and Giovanni Pelosi, Rebi Rivale and Paola Selva, Lovesick Duo.
Ferentino is located along the A1 Rome-Naples motorway (Ferentino-Sora exit), about an hour from Rome. By train, the Frosinone station is just a few kilometers away; from there, you can continue by bus or car towards the historic center.
Admission to the concerts in Piazza Mazzini is free. Presentations are held at 6:00 PM in the Sala della Pace of the Palazzo Consolare, and concerts begin at 9:00 PM in Piazza Mazzini.
We recommend arriving early to secure a seat in the square and taking advantage of the evening for a stroll through the historic center and a food and wine stop to enjoy the flavors of Ciociaria.
