A football tournament in the heart of Valle Anzasca

The Felice Samonini Memorial is a 5-a-side football tournament taking place on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at the sports field in Ceppo Morelli, a small town in the Province of Verbano-Cusio-Ossola nestled in Valle Anzasca, at the foot of the Italian side of Monte Rosa. The event is organized by the Fulgor Vanzone team and was created to remember Felice Samonini, a figure closely linked to the valley's football community.

Categories and format

The day kicks off at 9:30 AM and continues until 7:30 PM, with the pitch in constant use by the registered teams. The tournament features two distinct categories:

• 5-a-side football reserved for athletes aged 14 and over;
• 6-a-side Under 14, dedicated to younger players born in 2013 or later.

The entry fee is 100 euros per team for the main category, while participation for the Under 14s is free. Registration closes on Sunday, June 21.

Awards and party

The tournament offers cash prizes for the top three ranked teams, as well as special awards for the best player, best goalkeeper, and top scorer of the event. After the matches, there will be an awards ceremony followed by a party with a DJ, turning the sporting day into a gathering for the whole town and fans arriving from neighboring towns in Valle Anzasca.
