Federiciana Concert Season

A symphonic season in the heart of Alta Murgia

The Federiciana Concert Season is the premier event for classical music in Gravina in Puglia, a city in the Metropolitan City of Bari nestled within the Alta Murgia National Park. The festival is promoted by the Orchestra di Puglia e Basilicata, presided over by Maestro Francesco Zingariello and artistically directed by Marco Renzi, with the support of the Ministry of Culture, the Puglia Region, and the Municipality of Gravina in Puglia.

The name pays homage to the area's Frederick II heritage: Gravina is deeply linked to the figure of Frederick II of Swabia, and the season aims to establish the city as a musical hub between Puglia and Basilicata, also in view of its candidacy for Italian Capital of Culture.

Concert Venues

Concerts are held in two city venues: the Salone della Fiera San Giorgio, a spacious hall hosting most of the evenings, and the Teatro Vida, a more intimate and cozy space. Both venues offer an immersive listening experience of the orchestra and guest soloists.

The Federiciana program is known for its variety: alongside the great symphonic and chamber repertoire, it features jazz, tributes to the greats of Italian and Neapolitan song, film scores, and world premieres. Each evening highlights a guest soloist or conductor, often musicians of international caliber.
