Authentic spring flavors from Abruzzo in the village of Brittoli
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
The Fava Bean, Pecorino and Arrosticini Festival is a food and wine event held in the historic center of Brittoli, a small town of just over two hundred inhabitants perched on a rocky spur at an altitude of about 780 meters in the province of Pescara. The village, which retains its medieval layout of narrow alleys and stone houses, is located on the lower slopes of the Gran Sasso, within the Gran Sasso and Monti della Laga National Park, in one of the most evocative areas of the Abruzzo hinterland.
The festival was created to showcase the typical products of the Abruzzo spring and the surrounding area. Along the village's characteristic alleys, visitors can taste the specialties that give the event its name:
In addition to the tastings, the event features live music evenings with local bands, enlivening the village streets until late. Admission is free, and the event attracts visitors from neighboring towns, offering a chance to discover an authentic village far from mass tourism circuits.
Visiting the festival is also a great excuse to explore Brittoli and its treasures: the 17th-century Palazzo Pagliccia, with its rough stone facade, and the parish church dedicated to San Carlo Borromeo. Immersed in the greenery of the Gran Sasso, the village is an ideal starting point for excursions and for savoring the genuineness of the most authentic Abruzzo. The event, young but already rooted in local identity, combines the promotion of typical products with the rediscovery of a charming mountain village.
The dates for the 2026 edition of the Fava Bean, Pecorino and Arrosticini Festival in Brittoli have not yet been announced at the time of publication. The first edition took place in late May 2025, and the event, supported by the local community, is poised to become an annual fixture of the Abruzzo spring.
As soon as the organization releases the program, this page will be updated with dates, times, musical guests, and details on the tastings. For information, we recommend checking the official channels of the Municipality of Brittoli and the local Abruzzo press.
Brittoli can be reached by car from the Bussi/Popoli motorway exit (A25), continuing along the provincial roads of the Pescara hinterland. The village is about an hour from Pescara and L'Aquila.
Admission to the festival is free. Tastings of local products are paid for at the stalls set up along the alleys of the historic center.
We recommend comfortable clothing for walking through the stone alleys of the village and a light jacket for the evenings, given the altitude of nearly 800 meters.
