Fara Cipollara

The 2025 edition of Fara Cipollara, the twentieth, was held on Saturday, August 2nd, and Sunday, August 3rd, 2025, in the historic center of Fara Filiorum Petri, in the province of Chieti.

The festival offered nine food stalls with traditional and creative dishes based on the Flat White Onion, a Slow Food Presidium, accompanied by special menus in the village's restaurants, music, and entertainment in the alleys. A milestone — twenty years of the event — that reaffirmed the deep bond between the local community and its signature vegetable.

As a prelude to the festival, the cookbook "La Cipolla Bianca Piatta di Fara Filiorum Petri, regina della tavola" (The Flat White Onion of Fara Filiorum Petri, Queen of the Table) was presented on July 30th in the Town Hall Square, featuring traditional and modern recipes and cocktail ideas, the result of a collaboration between GAL Maiella Verde, the Producers' Association, and the Municipality of Fara Filiorum Petri.
