Engines Roar to Life

In Mandello del Lario (Province of Lecco), the town that has hosted Moto Guzzi since 1921, the Avviamento Motori festival symbolically marks the start of the motorcycling season. It's the moment when, after the winter break, the engines of historic motorcycles fire up again, accompanied by a parade that fills the town centre.

A Parade of Vintage Jewels

The stars of the show are the vintage Moto Guzzi bikes, models produced up to 1980: light motorcycles, 1950s models, under-the-frame engine bikes, prototypes, racing bikes, and models from the 70s and 80s. The event celebrates the technical and sporting history of the Eagle brand with awards for the oldest and newest Guzzi present, followed by presentations and the engine start of the most significant historic models.

Moto Guzzi's 105 Years

The 2026 edition has a special flavour: it celebrates the 105th birthday of Moto Guzzi, founded in Mandello in 1921. The festival is organised by the association Antiche Moto Brianza with the patronage of the Municipality of Mandello del Lario, and brings together collectors and enthusiasts around a unique motorcycle heritage.

On Lake Como

The setting is Lake Como, a backdrop that has made motorcycling history. Avviamento Motori is the first event of a season that, in Mandello, culminates every year with the grand international rally for Guzzi riders.
