The historic endurance powerboat race on Lake Como
The Centomiglia del Lario is a historic event in international powerboating: its first edition dates back to 1949, making it one of the longest-running and most prestigious competitions in the discipline. It takes place on the waters of Lake Como and is organized by the Yacht Club Como, affiliated with the Italian Powerboating Federation.
The race combines speed and endurance: on the main day, Sunday, about seventy boats from all over the world take part. The Centomiglia is valid as a stage for various championships - Italian, European, and world - for different categories, from offshore to touring, and represents a tough test for drivers and boats.
Among the most coveted awards is the Villa d'Este Trophy, alongside other memorials dedicated to historical figures in the sport. The setting is the unmistakable scenery of Como and its lake, which provides the backdrop for one of the most spectacular sporting events on the Larian calendar, capable of combining the tradition of aquatic motorsport with the charm of the territory.
