The Carnival of Nova Milanese
El Carneval de Noeuva is the carnival festival of Nova Milanese, a municipality in the Province of Monza and Brianza. The name, in local dialect, recalls the identity of the town ('Noeuva' means Nova) and announces the popular and family-friendly nature of the event: a grand parade of floats that winds through the town's streets amidst music, confetti, and masks.
Themed Floats
Each edition chooses a theme around which the local youth centres build the floats: colourful sets, giant characters, and fantasy worlds come to life along the route. The parade starts from one of the town's youth centres and heads towards the centre, involving children, families, and masked groups in a festive atmosphere.
A Festival for Families
In addition to the parade, El Carneval de Noeuva offers stalls with homemade sweets and hot chocolate, music, dancing, and face painting, usually in Piazza Marconi. Organized by the youth centres with the support of the municipal administration, it is one of the most anticipated events of the Novese winter, capable of bringing the entire Brianza community together for a day of colour and cheer.
El Carneval de Noeuva — edition 2026
The 2026 edition of El Carneval de Noeuva is scheduled for Sunday, February 15th (backup date February 21st in case of bad weather). The theme for the floats is 'the world of video games', featuring heroes, fantasy worlds, legendary consoles, and iconic characters. Meet at 2:00 PM at the Oratorio Beata Vergine Assunta (Grugnotorto), with the parade starting at 2:30 PM towards the Oratorio Centrale. In Piazza Marconi, from approximately 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM, there will be stalls with homemade cakes and hot chocolate, music, dancing, and face painting.

- 2:00 PM — Meet at the Oratorio Beata Vergine Assunta (Grugnotorto).
- 2:30 PM — Start of the float parade themed 'the world of video games', heading to the Oratorio Centrale.
- 2:30 PM - approx. 5:30 PM, Piazza Marconi — Stalls with homemade cakes and hot chocolate, music by the Arci Latin group, dancing, and face painting.
