An Easter treasure hunt through the narrow streets of the village of Fara in Sabina
The Egg Hunt – Adventure in the Village is the event that kicks off the Easter festivities every spring in Fara in Sabina, one of the most charming villages in the Province of Rieti, in the Lazio region. Promoted by the Municipality of Fara in Sabina together with the Pro Loco Fara in Sabina APS, the event transforms Piazza Duomo and the historic center's alleys into a large open-air playground designed for children and their families.
The heart of the event is a true narrative treasure hunt. The young participants, turned into junior explorers, receive a special mission: to help the legendary Prince of Eretum find his precious Easter treasure, lost among the village alleys. The reference is no coincidence: Eretum was an ancient Sabine city that stood in this territory, and the connection links the game to the deeper history of the Sabina region.
Along the route through the historic center, children must overcome a series of challenges that make the experience engaging and immersive:
The initiative is not just a party: it is designed as an educational experience that combines play, exploration of the territory, and social interaction, while enhancing the identity and beauty of the local village.
In recent years, the Egg Hunt has become a highly anticipated appointment: the 2026 edition, dubbed "2.0", saw the participation of over one hundred children, confirming the strong bond between the event and the Fara in Sabina community. The organization relies on the support of volunteers, the Civil Service, the Local Police, and local associations, testifying to a true team effort.
Immersed in the landscape of the Rieti Sabina olive groves, Fara in Sabina offers the ideal setting for a spring afternoon outdoors: a simple and free way to let the little ones, and their parents, discover the magic of a medieval village in Lazio.
On Saturday, April 4, 2026, starting at 3:00 PM, Piazza Duomo and the alleys of Fara in Sabina hosted the "2.0" edition of the Egg Hunt – Adventure in the Village. Children, guided by the story of the Prince of Eretum in search of the Easter treasure, faced skill tests, riddles, and team challenges along a route discovering the village's historical heritage.
The event, promoted by the Municipality of Fara in Sabina and the Pro Loco Fara in Sabina APS, chaired by Annita Giuliani, recorded a record participation with over one hundred children and numerous families. The organization was supported by the Civil Service, the Local Police, and local associations.
Meeting and departure in Piazza Duomo at 3:00 PM. The children, turned into young explorers, received the mission to help the Prince of Eretum find the lost Easter treasure. Fara in Sabina is located in the Province of Rieti, in the Lazio region, about an hour from Rome. By car, it can be reached via the Via Salaria (SS4); the reference train station is Fara Sabina-Montelibretti, on the Rome-Orte line, connected to the village by local services.
Admission to the event is free, but participation requires mandatory reservation. For information and registration, you can contact the Municipal Tourist Office in Piazza Duomo no. 2, or send a message to the number 380 2838920.
We recommend comfortable clothing and shoes suitable for walking through the alleys and staircases of the historic center. The meeting point is in Piazza Duomo.
