Eel Festival

The 2025 edition of the Eel Festival took place in Sinagra, in the heart of the Nebrodi (province of Messina), in Piazza San Teodoro, during the month of October. The event renewed its long tradition, born in 1979, focusing on the 'pointed-head' eel from the Naso stream, caught using the ancient 'stagghiata' technique.

At the food stalls, visitors were able to taste grilled, stewed, and roasted eel with caponata or 'alla cacciatora', along with other Sicilian culinary specialties and typical local products. The evenings were enlivened by musical and folk performances, in a festive atmosphere that confirmed the festival as one of the most heartfelt events in the Sinagra calendar.
