Echos. Places and Music is one of the longest-running and most appreciated music festivals in Piedmont. Born in 1999 as an act of love for a territory outside the main classical music circuits, in nearly thirty years it has presented hundreds of concerts, enhancing dozens of historical sites in the municipalities of the Alessandria province and the Monferrato region. The festival is organized by the Associazione Musicale Ondasonora APS under the artistic direction of pianist Sergio Marchegiani.

The stop in the Municipality of Morbello

The municipality of Morbello, nestled among the hills of the Acqui Terme area and the Upper Monferrato, in the province of Alessandria (Piedmont), welcomes the festival to the refined Villa Claudia, in the Costa area. This is the hallmark of Echos: bringing internationally renowned performers to highly evocative locations — churches, abbeys, villas, historic palaces, and wine cellars — restoring centrality to the smaller towns of the territory. For Morbello, this is the seventh consecutive year as a festival venue, a sign of a well-established bond between the community and the event.

The Vagues Saxophone Quartet in residence

The star of this stop is the Vagues Saxophone Quartet, an Italian-French ensemble formed by Andrea Mocci (soprano sax), Francesco Ronzio (alto sax), Mattia Quirico (tenor sax), and Vincent Dupuy (baritone sax). The quartet is in residence for the 2026 edition of Echos with the project «All the colors of the sax», consisting of two concerts, and in Morbello they present «Mélodies sans frontières», a musical journey that traverses different eras and styles.

A festival spread across the territory

Each edition of Echos is divided into numerous concerts distributed throughout the municipalities of the Alessandria and Monferrato areas, from the urban area of Alessandria to the villages of the valleys and wine hills. Alongside the big names of the concert scene, the festival gives space to young talents and complements the main program with special projects such as «The Places of Wine», a mini-cycle of concerts in local wine cellars.
