Echos. Places and Music is one of the longest-running and most acclaimed classical music festivals in Piedmont. Founded in 1999 as a labor of love for a territory outside the major concert circuits, it has presented over 570 concerts in nearly thirty years, showcasing 129 historic sites across 56 municipalities in the Alessandria province. The festival is organized by the Associazione Musicale Ondasonora APS of Alessandria.

The municipality of Silvano d'Orba, in the Province of Alessandria, hosts the festival in one of its most cherished community landmarks: the Church of San Pietro Apostolo, located on the hill dominated by Castello Adorno. This is the hallmark of Echos: bringing renowned performers to highly evocative spaces—churches, abbeys, castles, historic palaces, and wine cellars—restoring centrality to the smaller towns of Piedmont. Each edition features around twenty concerts distributed across numerous municipalities in the Alessandria area, from the urban center of Alessandria to the villages of the Monferrato and the Apennine valleys. Alongside big names from the concert scene, the festival provides a platform for emerging young international talents, complementing the musical program with efforts to highlight local heritage, such as guided tours of the concert venues. The event is supported by public institutions and local cultural foundations.

Echos in Silvano d'Orba — edition 2026
Per la sua 28ª edizione (dal 25 aprile al 21 giugno 2026, con 24 concerti in tutta la provincia di Alessandria), il festival Echos. I Luoghi e la Musica ha portato a Silvano d'Orba un raffinato recital pianistico nella Chiesa di San Pietro Apostolo. Protagonista è stato il giovane pianista ucraino Danylo Saienko, nato a Leopoli nel 1991 e oggi tra le personalità più interessanti della sua generazione, vincitore di prestigiosi concorsi internazionali tra cui il Maria Canals di Barcellona. La tappa ha confermato la formula che ha reso celebre il festival: interpreti di rilievo in luoghi storici e suggestivi del territorio alessandrino.

How to get there
Silvano d'Orba is located in the Upper Monferrato, a few kilometers from Ovada, in the south of the Alessandria province (Piedmont). By car, it can be reached via the A26 motorway (Ovada exit), continuing along the provincial roads of the Ovada area. The reference railway station is Ovada, on the Genoa–Acqui Terme line.
Parking and shuttle
Parking spaces near the church are limited: a shuttle service generally operates for concerts, connecting Piazza San Sebastiano to the Church of San Pietro Apostolo in the afternoon, before the concert begins.
Tickets
Admission to the festival concerts is free until all available seats are filled. It is advisable to arrive early to secure a seat.
