Markets, music, open churches, and family activities during Easter weekend
Easter in Urbino is the event that transforms the historic center of the Ducal capital into a large open-air stage during the Easter weekend. Promoted by the Municipality of Urbino in collaboration with numerous local entities, the festival combines the religious dimension of Easter with a cultural and recreational program designed for residents, families, and tourists. The setting is no coincidence: the historic center of Urbino, in the province of Pesaro and Urbino, in the Marche region, is inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage list and is universally known as the birthplace of Raphael Sanzio.
The heart of the event are the Easter markets, set up from morning to evening along the most evocative spaces of the city: Piazza San Francesco, Portico Volponi, and Corso Garibaldi. Among the stalls, you can find items of craftsmanship, antiques, and vintage goods, local products, and gift ideas, in a route curated by the Pro Loco of Urbino that invites you to stroll leisurely through the alleys and arcades of the village.
Piazza della Repubblica, the city's main square, hosts live concerts organized in collaboration with the Urbino Jazz Club, with bands and performances in the late afternoon and early evening. Alongside the music, the "Urbino Divino Giardino" exhibition offers an extraordinary tour of the city's churches, with free guided tours organized with the Archdiocese of Urbino-Urbania-Sant'Angelo in Vado: an opportunity to discover the city's artistic and spiritual heritage.
Ample space is dedicated to families and children. The Cortile del Collegio Raffaello hosts creative workshops and the traditional egg hunt, while Piazza della Repubblica is the setting for the falconry show, always very popular with the younger ones. Itinerant entertainment and snacks complete an offering designed for enjoying Easter outdoors.
Easter in Urbino is not a single event but a widespread program that, year after year, varies its events and participants. Visiting Urbino during these days means combining the festival with the pleasure of discovering its iconic monuments, from the Ducal Palace to the Birthplace of Raphael, immersed in the hilly landscape of the Marche's Montefeltro region.
The 2026 edition of Easter in Urbino (April 4-6) offered a rich and widespread program in the historic center. The Easter markets, featuring crafts, antiques, and vintage items, were open from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM in Piazza San Francesco, Portico Volponi, and Corso Garibaldi, in collaboration with the Pro Loco of Urbino. The "Urbino Divino Giardino" exhibition opened the city's churches with free guided tours, in conjunction with the Archdiocese of Urbino-Urbania-Sant'Angelo in Vado. On Monday, families could participate in the egg hunt and falconry show.
