About diVino

diVino is the food and wine event that transforms the historic Villa Piccolomini on Rome's Aurelia Antica into a grand Italian wine salon every February. Curated by the Decanter Wine Academy, the festival brings together around a hundred wineries from across the peninsula, offering over three hundred labels for open tasting, alongside expert-led masterclasses, vertical tastings, and gourmet food pairings. It is a two-day event designed for enthusiasts and industry professionals alike, featuring tasting counters, sommeliers, and producers ready to share the stories behind their wines.

diVino, quality wine in the heart of Rome

diVino is the winter event that the Decanter Wine Academy dedicates to high-quality Italian wine. Hosted every February in the elegant halls of Villa Piccolomini, a historic residence overlooking the Aurelia Antica just a stone's throw from the Vatican. Located in the Municipality of Rome, within the Metropolitan City of Rome Capital and the Lazio region, the event has quickly become one of the most anticipated tasting fairs in the capital, attracting wine lovers, sommeliers, and industry professionals.

A hundred wineries and over three hundred labels

The heart of diVino is its grand walk-around tasting: a hundred companies from all over Italy—and beyond—present more than three hundred labels for tasting. Whites, reds, rosés, sparkling wines, and meditation wines form a journey that traverses the peninsula's main appellations, from the great Tuscan reds to the indigenous grape varieties of the South, allowing visitors to meet producers directly and discover small, artisanal wineries alongside established names.

Masterclasses and expert vertical tastings

Alongside the tasting counters, diVino offers a rich calendar of exclusive, limited-seating masterclasses led by experts and producers. The most prestigious sessions include historic vertical tastings and thematic deep dives into Italy's great terroirs, often paired with gourmet creations by guest chefs. These educational and analytical tasting sessions make the event invaluable for both curious wine enthusiasts and professionals looking to stay updated.

Villa Piccolomini and the Aurelia Antica

The setting is the refined Villa Piccolomini, an elegant period villa nestled in the greenery of the Aurelia Antica, featuring on-site parking and rooms that naturally lend themselves to the convivial atmosphere of a wine tasting. Its location, convenient to the center of Rome and the Janiculum, combines the charm of a historic residence with ease of access, offering visitors a picturesque backdrop for a weekend dedicated to wine.

An event for enthusiasts and professionals

diVino caters to a wide audience: from curious beginners wanting to explore the world of wine to seasoned connoisseurs, as well as sommeliers from industry associations (AIS, FISAR, ONAV) and trade professionals, who benefit from dedicated rates and direct networking opportunities with wineries. The ticket includes a wine glass, a glass holder bag, and free access to the tasting counters, with finger food options available to accompany the wines. Edition after edition, the event continues to solidify its identity as a premier showcase for fine drinking in the Capital.

diVino — edition 2026

The fourth edition of diVino took place on Saturday, February 7, and Sunday, February 8, 2026, at Villa Piccolomini on Rome's Aurelia Antica. A hundred wineries from across Italy presented over three hundred labels for tasting, featuring two expert-led masterclasses dedicated to Brunello di Montalcino and Tuscan Maremma rosés.

For its fourth edition, diVino enlivened Villa Piccolomini over the weekend of February 7 and 8, 2026, with tasting counters open from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM on both days. The festival, curated by the Decanter Wine Academy, brought together a hundred wineries from across the peninsula and beyond, with more than three hundred labels available for tasting.
