Blues in the heart of the Po Delta

Deltablues is the reference festival for blues and jazz enthusiasts in Polesine: born in Rovigo, it is one of the longest-running events of its kind in Italy and spans numerous municipalities in the province every summer. Organised by the Ente Rovigo Festival, in 2026 it reaches its 39th edition, bringing concerts to eight locations in the area, including Porto Viro.

'Deltablues on the Road' in Donada

In Porto Viro, the festival takes the form of Deltablues on the Road, an event spread throughout the district of Donada, as part of the summer review 'Marti in Piazza'. Three groups in trio or quartet format perform as buskers, simultaneously animating squares, streets, and venues in the centre: the audience strolls from one stage to another, in an informal and engaging atmosphere.

A travelling and popular format

The choice of street music, free and widespread, is the distinctive feature of Deltablues: the festival leaves the theatres and reaches people in their everyday lives. In Donada, a district of the municipality of Porto Viro in the province of Rovigo, bars and squares become, for one evening, the pulsating heart of great African-American music, blending blues, swing, and improvisation.
