Nine days of intensive workshops and dance performances at the Teatro Il Maggiore in Verbania
From July 4 to 12, 2026, the Teatro Il Maggiore in Verbania hosts the fifth edition of Dance Week, the summer event promoted by the Fondazione Egri per la Danza in collaboration with the Verbania events center. For nine days, the spaces of the theater overlooking Lake Maggiore come alive with an intensive training workshop and three evening performances open to the public, in a program that combines high-level training and live performance in the heart of the town of Verbania, in Piedmont.
The heart of the event is the dance workshop, with classes from morning until late afternoon divided into three levels starting from age eight: a first level for younger students (8-11 years), a second level (12-14 years), and an advanced level dedicated to dancers over 15. The range of disciplines is wide and touches on all forms of body language:
The classes are led by renowned teachers and artists from the national and international scene, including Viola Scaglione, Monica Casadei, Adriano Bolognino, Riccardo Fusiello, Francesco Valli, Luis Miguel Núñez, and Laura Ziccardi, supported by the dancers of the EgriBiancoDanza company.
Alongside the training, Dance Week offers three evenings of contemporary dance open to everyone:
The Fondazione Egri per la Danza carries on the legacy of the Dance Study Center founded in 1953 by Susanna Egri and is now recognized by the Ministry of Culture as a Center of Relevant National Interest for Dance. With Dance Week, the Foundation brings to Verbania, on the shores of Lake Maggiore, a proposal that intertwines choreographic tradition and contemporary research, making Piedmont a summer reference point for students, enthusiasts, and spectators.
The 5th edition of Dance Week enlivens the Teatro Il Maggiore in Verbania from July 4 to 12, 2026. The training workshop, structured into three levels for ages 8 and up with classes in classical, contemporary, hip-hop, Caribbean dance, pilates, and photography, is accompanied by three evenings open to the public: the Händel Evening with EgriBiancoDanza and Balletto Teatro di Torino and the Orchestra Camerata Strumentale Acquese (July 5), the itinerant journey Dar Corpo allo Spazio #6 (July 8), and The Barber of Seville by the Artemis Danza company with choreography by Monica Casadei (July 11).
All events are held at the Teatro Il Maggiore, at Via San Bernardino 49, in Verbania (Pallanza), on Lake Maggiore.
