Culture at the heart of the town

The Culture Festival is the flagship event of the University of the Three Ages (Unitre) of Cupello, an association that has been promoting culture and social life for years in the Municipality of Cupello, in the province of Chieti, in the heart of the Abruzzo Vastese area. Born in 2016 with the theme "Food for the soul and the mind," the festival brings together associations, artists, authors, and enthusiasts in the historic center for a few days entirely dedicated to shared knowledge and intergenerational encounters.

A program for all ages

The common thread of the Festival is variety: culture is proposed in different, accessible, and engaging forms. In the various editions, the program has alternated moments of reflection with moments of pure fun, under the artistic direction of Fabio Bruno.

• Book presentations with authors, generally scheduled from the late afternoon: literary meetings ranging from fiction to poetry, from non-fiction to local history.
• Tournaments of chess, briscola, and burraco, which in the afternoon attract players of all ages to the town squares.
• Collective art exhibition, set up in the spaces of the center and open for several days, featuring works by local artists.
• Bailando, the dance evening with live music, group dances, and Latin, traditional, and Caribbean rhythms.
• Stars on the Hill, the evening walk on the hills of Cupello to observe the sky, stars, and planets in the company of astronomy enthusiasts.

Cupello and its summer

The Culture Festival is part of the rich calendar of "Cupello in Summer," the summer program built by the municipal administration together with local associations and entities. Among gastronomic festivals, concerts, and meetings, the Unitre review represents the reflective soul of the summer, an opportunity to experience the town's historic center and rediscover the value of culture as a community tool.

A summer meeting point for the people of Cupello and visitors from the nearby towns of the Vastese area, the Culture Festival testifies to the vitality of Abruzzo's associations and the role of Unitre as a cultural engine of the territory.
