Art en plein air
The 'Scorci di Crocefieschi' Outdoor Painting Competition is an event dedicated to live art that enlivens Crocefieschi, a village in the upper Scrivia Valley in the Metropolitan City of Genoa. Outdoor painting is a creative challenge: artists create their works on-site, throughout the day, drawing inspiration directly from the surrounding places.
The village as the subject
The village itself is the protagonist of the competition, with its alleys, small squares, stone architecture, and the panoramas of the Ligurian Apennines. Painters position themselves in the streets of Crocefieschi and capture the most characteristic views on canvas, transforming the village into a large open-air studio. Afterwards, the works are exhibited and judged by a jury.
A celebration for the community
Organized by the Pro Loco of Crocefieschi and included among the Autentico Ligure events, the competition is also an occasion for celebration for the community and visitors, who can watch the artists at work and discover a little-known corner of the Genoese hinterland. An event that combines art, landscape, and the promotion of the Scrivia Valley territory.
Scorci di Crocefieschi — edition 2026
The 2026 edition of the competition takes place on August 22 and 23. Registered artists create their works en plein air in the streets of Crocefieschi, in the upper Scrivia Valley, followed by the exhibition and award ceremony for the best works.

How to get there
Crocefieschi is located in the upper Scrivia Valley, in the hinterland of Genoa. By car from the A7 (Busalla exit) or by driving up the valley. The nearest train station is Busalla, from which you can continue by bus or car.
