The Crescia Festival of Isola
In the hamlet of Isola, in the municipality of Nocera Umbra (province of Perugia), the Crescia Festival is held annually, dedicated to one of the most typical products of the gastronomic tradition on the border between Umbria and Marche.
Crescia, bread of the border
Crescia is a flattened bread, similar to a thick focaccia or piadina, widespread in the Umbrian-Marche Apennines and traditionally cooked over embers or in a wood-fired oven. The festival offers it in all its variations, accompanied by cured meats, cheeses, and local culinary specialties.
A community celebration
For a few days, the sports facilities of the hamlet are transformed into a large convivial space with food stalls and entertainment and music. The event is organized by the Pro Loco Isola Fossara, which animates numerous events in the Nocera area, and represents an authentic opportunity to discover the flavors of the most genuine Umbria.
Crescia Festival — edition 2026
From June 11 to 14, 2026, the hamlet of Isola di Nocera Umbra hosts the new edition of the Crescia Festival. At the sports facilities, the Pro Loco Isola Fossara sets up food stalls dedicated to crescia and traditional cuisine, with evenings of entertainment and music.
