Jazz that leaves the theatres

Not all jazz lives on theatre stages: this is the conviction behind Crema Street Jazz, the widespread music festival that brings concerts and improvisations to the streets, squares, and urban spaces of Crema, in the province of Cremona. For a few days, the city becomes a capillary stage, where music reaches corners, neighbourhoods, and businesses, enhancing often little-visited places.

Music and social inclusion

Promoted by the association Crema Live Heart, the festival is not just a musical review: it has a strong social dimension. The presentation evening at the Teatro San Domenico raised funds to support local organizations working with vulnerable young people, such as ASD Overlimits and the Equestrian Rehabilitation Centre. Local area promotion and inclusion go hand in hand with music.

From Jazz Day to the grand finale

The festival opens on April 30th, a date that coincides with International Jazz Day: a musical itinerary through various city locations. Among the artists involved in past editions were names like Vinicius Surian, with his Brazilian influences, and trumpeter Davide Ghidoni, who has played with artists of the calibre of Mina and Celentano.

With its widespread and free format, Crema Street Jazz has become an anticipated event of the Crema spring, capable of intertwining quality music, neighbourhood life, and social commitment in the heart of the Lombard city.
