The 10 km road race in the Talenti district, Rome's Municipality III
The Talenti Run – Corri al Maximo was launched in 2021 by the A.S.D. Talenti Running Team Roma, a group of enthusiasts founded in 2019. In just a few years, it has become one of the most popular running events in the northeast of the capital. The race takes place in the Talenti district, within Municipality III of the City of Rome, in the heart of the Lazio Region. For one Sunday in March, this residential area closes its streets to traffic and hands them over entirely to runners.
The race covers a distance of 10 kilometers. It is FIDAL-certified and now recognized by Roman runners as one of the fastest on the spring calendar. The track is almost entirely flat and stays within the district, passing through Via di Casal Boccone, Via della Bufalotta, Via Ugo Ojetti, Via Ezra Pound, and Via Fracchia. The stretch near Talenti Park provides the greenest and most pleasant part of the morning. Because of its layout, the Talenti Run is considered an excellent testing ground for those preparing for longer distances later in the season.
The meeting point is set for the early morning in front of the Maximo Sports Center, which serves as the event's headquarters. This is where participants collect their race bibs, drop off their bags, and return after the finish for refreshments and the awards ceremony. The atmosphere is typical of Roman neighborhood races, where major capital city clubs—especially Podistica Solidarietà, historically the most represented team—mingle with local families and first-time runners. Refreshment stations are provided around the 5 km mark and at the finish line for all participants.
The event is organized by S.S.D. Maximo A.R.L. together with the A.S.D. Talenti Running Team Roma, with the patronage of Roma Capitale – Municipality III, and under the aegis of the FIDAL Lazio Regional Committee. A distinctive feature of the organizing group is its focus on the local area: the association collaborates with neighborhood schools and carries out athletics initiation projects for children, viewing running as a clean sport accessible to everyone.
For those visiting Rome in the spring, the Talenti Run offers a different image of the city: not the monuments of the historic center, but the life of a neighborhood coming together. For runners, it is an opportunity for a fast, well-organized 10 km race just a few kilometers from the Grande Raccordo Anulare, with the convenience of a well-equipped sports center as a logistics base.
The 2026 edition of the Talenti Run confirmed the constant growth of the event: over 1,300 total participants enlivened the sports Sunday of Municipality III. The competitive race recorded 817 starters and 760 finishers, while the recreational run attracted 310 registrants. More than 200 young athletes took part in the Talenti Young races.
Among the men, Giuseppe Gerratana (Aeronautica Militare) won in 29:43, setting a new event record. The women's race was won by Sara Carnicelli (Imperiali Atletica) in 35:40. Among the clubs, Podistica Solidarietà was the most numerous with 91 athletes crossing the finish line.
The flat course, entirely within the Talenti district, passed through Via di Casal Boccone, Via della Bufalotta, Via Ezra Pound, and Via Fracchia, among others, with traffic closures and diversions of surface lines during the morning of the race.
The Maximo Sports Center is located at Via di Casal Boccone 283, in the Talenti district (Rome's Municipality III). By car, exit the Grande Raccordo Anulare towards Via della Bufalotta. Street parking is available nearby, but on race morning, there are parking bans and temporary road closures along the route. By public transport, the area is served by ATAC surface lines that connect Talenti to the Conca d'Oro station on Metro B1, from where you can continue by bus.
The meeting point is at 7:00 AM at the Maximo Sports Center, with the start at 9:30 AM. It is advisable to arrive well in advance to collect your bib and avoid streets already closed to traffic. Registration for the competitive race closes a few days before the event, while for the recreational race, it is possible to sign up on the morning of the event until shortly before the start. Refreshment stations are available along the route and at the finish line for all participants.
Talenti is a residential area with few hotels. Visitors from outside Rome will find more options in the Montesacro the Montesacro Montesacro Montesacro Montesacro and Nomentano districts, which are well-connected to the Metro B1 line and about twenty minutes by car from the start.
