The festival of porchetta in the Corporeno style, in the heart of Cento
The Corporeno Porchetta Festival is one of the most cherished food and wine festivals in the Cento area, located in the lowlands of the province of Ferrara, in Emilia-Romagna. Every year, at the end of June, the small hamlet of Corporeno comes alive for three evenings of taste and tradition, attracting visitors from Cento and neighboring towns, as well as from Bologna, Modena, and Ferrara, all easily reachable in a short time.
The signature dish of the event is porchetta in the Corporeno style, prepared according to a recipe that the community proudly guards. The festival offers it in several variations to please all palates: the classic Corporeno version, the spicier 'diavola' style, and a refined almond-infused variant, all served with the inevitable French fries. For those who can't decide, there's also the porchetta trio served with Texan-style beans.
In addition to the star dish, porchetta, the stand's kitchen offers Emilian culinary classics and some house specialties:
Local wines, such as Lambrusco and Prosecco, beer, and soft drinks are also available to perfectly complement every dish.
The festival is rooted in the Feast of San Luigi Gonzaga, the patron saint of the Corporeno community, and maintains that village festival spirit of conviviality, volunteering, and neighborly gatherings. Everything takes place in the covered stand at Villa Borgatti, along the Via Statale, in an ancient residence surrounded by greenery, just a short walk from the historic center of Cento. It's the ideal opportunity to discover an authentic corner of Emilia-Romagna far from the main tourist routes.
The Corporeno Porchetta Festival 2026 returns from June 26 to 28 in the covered stand of Villa Borgatti, along the Via Statale, in Corporeno di Cento, province of Ferrara. This year again, the star is the porchetta in the Corporeno style, served in multiple variations, in a popular festival atmosphere linked to the local community.
The stand opens every evening from 7:30 PM and offers a rich menu of Emilian tradition. Reservations are appreciated.
