Corchiano Summer Music: the first edition

Corchiano Summer Music launches in 2026, bringing a musical project that blends education and performance to the small village of Corchiano, in the province of Viterbo, for the very first time. From July 30th to August 2nd, 2026, the town becomes a meeting point for young instrumentalists, teachers, and the public, set in one of the most evocative areas of the Lazio Tuscia. The festival is promoted by the Banda Giuseppe Verdi Cultural Musical Association of Corchiano, an organization deeply rooted in the local area and the beating heart of the town's musical life.

A high-level masterclass

The project is under the artistic direction of Maestro Giuseppe Panepinto, who for a decade was the creator and director of the Farnese Summer Music, where he organized over one hundred concerts. For Corchiano, Panepinto has assembled a faculty of national and international standing to lead the advanced courses:

• Francesco Del Monte — trumpet, Santa Cecilia Conservatory of Rome
• Paolo Miceli — clarinet, Alessandro Scarlatti Conservatory of Palermo
• Andrea Santarsiere — percussion, Orchestra of the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia of Rome
• Domenico Cima — euphonium, winner of an international competition in Korea
• Alessandro Scalone — saxophone, member of the Italian Army National Band
• Veronica Bigliani — piano accompanist

The masterclass offers students the opportunity to work side-by-side with professionals from major conservatories and the most important Italian bands and orchestras, with a particular focus on wind instruments and percussion, the true soul of the band tradition.

Free evening concerts

Alongside the educational activities, the public heart of the event is represented by the evening concerts: all performances and concerts held outside of the musical course will be free and open to everyone. Following the itinerant model already tested by the artistic director, the music moves out of the classrooms and into the squares, streets, and spaces of the historic center, involving teachers and students in moments of sharing with the community.

The village of Corchiano

Located in the Tuscia region, among the tuff gorges carved by streams and just a few kilometers from Civita Castellana, Corchiano is a village of ancient origins that preserves a compact and charming historic center. The choice to host a music festival here enhances a territory often far from major tourist circuits, offering visitors to Lazio the chance to discover the authentic atmosphere of a small Viterbo town during summer evenings.

A project by the Banda Giuseppe Verdi

Behind Corchiano Summer Music is the work of the Banda Giuseppe Verdi Cultural Musical Association, presided over by Maurizio Bortolussi, with Maestro Alessandro Achilli leading the musical direction. The festival is born with the ambition of becoming a permanent fixture of the Corchiano summer, capable of combining the growth of young musicians with the cultural vitality of the town. As this is a first edition, the detailed concert program will be announced by the organizers in the weeks leading up to the event.
