About Coloriamoci Sopra!

Coloriamoci Sopra! is an annual urban art, street art, music, and culture festival held every June in the historic center of Bisenti, a small village in the Teramo province of Abruzzo. Founded in 2011 by the Quasi Adatti Cultural Association, the event breathes new life and color into the village alleys through murals, workshops, theater performances, concerts, and food stalls. Self-funded, independent, and free to attend, it is an urban regeneration project that weaves contemporary art with the unique identity of the Abruzzo region.

A festival that brings color back to Bisenti

Coloriamoci Sopra! is an urban art and street art event that transforms the historic center of Bisentiโ€”a village of just over 1,500 residents in the Teramo province, nestled in the heart of the Val Fino valley in Abruzzoโ€”every summer. Conceived in 2011 by the Quasi Adatti Cultural Association, the festival was born with a simple yet ambitious goal: to restore color, beauty, and vitality to the village's alleys and facades, countering the depopulation of small inland Abruzzo towns through the power of contemporary art.

Street art and urban regeneration

The heart of the event is the creation of murals and street art pieces that, edition after edition, have turned the streets of the historic center into a true open-air museum. In recent years, the festival has integrated with the Ratike urban regeneration project, which invites Italian and international artists to create figures and "new metaphorical citizens" inspired by the local culture, history, traditions, nature, and gastronomy. Among the most significant works is the mural dedicated to the Warrior of Capestrano, an icon of Abruzzo identity dating back to the 6th century BC.

More than just painting

Coloriamoci Sopra! is a collective and participatory celebration. Alongside live painting, the program offers a rich variety of activities for all ages:

  • creative workshops for children and families;
  • street theater, puppet shows, and performances;
  • art and photography exhibitions;
  • painting competitions, including the Brandy Prize dedicated to local artist Antonio Brandimarte;
  • evening concerts featuring Italian and international bands;
  • food and wine stalls showcasing local specialties.

An independent and free event

True to its roots, the festival remains self-funded, independent, and completely free to attend. It is the energy of the volunteers from the Quasi Adatti Association, supported by the Municipality of Bisenti and the local community, that makes every edition possible. For those visiting inland Abruzzo, Coloriamoci Sopra! is the perfect opportunity to discover an authentic village and experience urban art in an intimate and welcoming setting.
