The White Night that unites an entire territory

The City Territory White Night is one of the most anticipated summer events in the L'Aquila hinterland. Launched in 2023, the festival follows an original format: it is not confined to a single location but is spread across Scoppito, the main city of L'Aquila, and a network of local municipalities, transforming the entire area into one large open-air stage. It is organized by the Pro Loco of Scoppito in collaboration with Pro Loco Sabinum, with the patronage and support of the Municipalities of Scoppito and L'Aquila.

Music, sports, and culture in a single evening

The beating heart of the festival is the Scoppito municipal field, which for one night becomes the hub for sports tournaments, concerts, and entertainment. Alongside live music and DJ sets that keep the stage lively until late at night, the White Night offers competitions and tournaments in padel, tennis, volleyball, basketball, and soccer, as well as theatrical performances, choral exhibitions, a photography marathon, and a large area dedicated to gaming and children. There is no shortage of traditional vintage car and motorcycle rallies—Vespas, Fiat 500s, and off-road vehicles—that travel through the local towns before converging on Scoppito.

A widespread event in the heart of Abruzzo

Located in the province of L'Aquila, at the foot of the mountains surrounding the L'Aquila basin, Scoppito serves as a gateway to the vast territory of ancient Amiternum, an archaeological site of great value. The City Territory White Night was born from the idea of networking the small towns in the area, promoting participation, inclusion, and intergenerational bonds. To facilitate mobility during the evening, the municipalities organize dedicated parking and a free shuttle service connecting Scoppito, L'Aquila's historic center, and the parking areas until the early hours of the morning.

In the year of L'Aquila Capital of Culture

The most recent edition holds special significance: it takes place in the year that L'Aquila is the Italian Capital of Culture, a recognition that brings national attention to the entire Abruzzo district. The City Territory White Night thus becomes part of a broader path of cultural and tourist revitalization for the area, combining popular entertainment, shows, and the promotion of local heritage.
