An evening dedicated to the excellence of Nardò
The City of Nardò Award is the event with which the municipal administration pays tribute, every summer, to the women and men who have brought prestige to the city. The ceremony takes place in the scenic Piazza Salandra, considered one of the most beautiful baroque squares in Puglia, in the heart of Nardò's historic center, in the Province of Lecce.
Created with the intent of highlighting those who keep the name of Nardò high and sharing the value of local roots, the award is not just a simple ceremony: it is a true night of excellence that combines awards, live music, testimonials, and entertainment, drawing both residents and tourists vacationing along the Nardò coast to the square.

The City of Nardò Award is one of the highlights of the Nardò Estate (Nardò Summer) calendar, the program with which the Municipality enlivens the historic center and the coast from June to September, alongside festivals such as Circonauta, Salento Ridens, and stops of the Notte della Taranta. It is a free-entry event, designed for the community and the many visitors who choose Nardò and its coast during the summer.

The City of Nardò Award is confirmed in the Nardò Estate 2026 program, the calendar of events with which the Municipality enlivens the city from June to September. The administration has included the evening of excellence among the events for August and September, but as of today, the official date and the list of awardees have not yet been communicated.
As per tradition, the ceremony is expected to take place in Piazza Salandra, in the heart of Nardò's baroque historic center, with free admission, celebrating Nardò natives who have distinguished themselves in cinema, art, entertainment, culture, sports, social commitment, and communication. The detailed program will be updated as soon as the Municipality of Nardò releases official information.

The ceremony is held in Piazza Salandra, in the historic center of Nardò (LE), in Puglia.
How to get there
By car: take the Nardò exit from the Lecce-Gallipoli expressway; the historic center is just a few minutes away. By train: Nardò Centrale station on the Ferrovie del Sud Est line, connected to Lecce and Gallipoli. Nearest airport: Brindisi-Salento, about an hour's drive away.

The evening is traditionally free to attend.
Tips
In the height of summer, Nardò and its seaside areas (Santa Maria al Bagno, Santa Caterina, Sant'Isidoro) are very busy: it is advisable to book accommodation in advance and reach the square on foot, avoiding driving in the historic center.
