The new design hub in the university district
The Città Studi Design Hub is one of the new features of Milan Design Week, the event that transforms Milan, in Lombardy, into the world capital of design during the Salone del Mobile. It is a new hub for the Porta Venezia Design District that extends the Fuorisalone towards the Città Studi district, in Municipality 3, the university heart of the city where the Polytechnic and the University of Milan are located.
The protagonist of the hub is the site-specific installation "OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER" by the brand 6:AM GLASSWORKS, created in the evocative spaces of the former Romano Swimming Pool, a historic Milanese swimming facility open to the public for the first time on this occasion. A dialogue between artistic glass and the industrial archaeology of the place.
The new hub was created to establish a direct connection with the academic and experimental world, expanding the district's boundaries beyond the traditional limits of Porta Venezia. It is part of the Porta Venezia Design District program, which for 2026 presents dozens of projects under the theme "Design is Act", with the participation of hundreds of international designers and curators.
Like the entire Fuorisalone, the Città Studi Design Hub is an opportunity for the general public to discover the latest design trends in new locations across the city, in a journey that intertwines creativity, architecture, and the identity of the neighborhoods.
The Città Studi Design Hub is one of the new features of Fuorisalone 2026, scheduled from April 20 to 26 during Milan Design Week. The new hub extends the Porta Venezia Design District towards the university district of Città Studi, in Municipality 3 of Milan.
The heart of the hub is the site-specific installation "OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER" by the brand 6:AM GLASSWORKS, set up for the first time in the spaces of the former Romano Swimming Pool, within the district's program dedicated to the theme "Design is Act".
