Ciccimmaretati Poor Dishes Festival

Ciccimmaretati 2025 in Stio

From August 17th to 23rd, 2025, the village of Stio, in the province of Salerno, hosted for seven consecutive evenings the festival dedicated to ciccimmaretati, the legume and cereal soup that has been the symbol of the event organized by the «Il Punto» Cultural Association since 1992.

In 2025, the formula remained the proven one: food stalls set up in the centuries-old chestnut grove at an altitude of about 650 meters, numbered and covered wooden tables, about a hundred volunteers involved in the service, and a large audience attracted by the rural cuisine of Cilento. Alongside the signature dish, served with homemade bread and local wine, visitors were able to taste foglie e patane, cavatielli, stuffed eggplant, baked wheat, cheeses, and artisanal desserts.

The evenings were accompanied by live folk music, with tammurriate and tarantelle, and complemented by craft markets and walks in the historic center, in one of the most identity-defining festivals of the Cilento summer in Campania.
